What sorts of issues can a Housing Support Worker help with?

The support provided will depend on the individual needs and circumstances of the Service User(s). Below is a list of some of the things that a Housing Support Worker would assist with.

• Practical help with setting up the utilities in your new home
• Obtaining funding to furnish a new home
• Budgeting plans and dealing with correspondence
• Accessing health services
• Getting involved with local community/interest groups
• Accessing other specialist services in the area
• Dealing with benefits, rent or mortgage payments
• Increasing confidence and motivation
• Accessing schools, nurseries, childcare for those with children
• Accessing work, training or volunteering 

Starter packs

The Bridge provides Starter Packs to vulnerable clients who have been allocated their first tenancy. Many clients face the prospect of moving into an empty shell with little or no belongings. These packs are designed to meet some very basic needs such as bedding, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. To enquire about a starter pack, please telephone us or visit our offices.  Please note, if you wish to apply for a Starter Pack, proof of benefits and a copy of your tenancy agreeement will be required.
